Former Chicago Cubs Baseball Player CJ Stewart hosts L.E.A.D Community Day at Jackson HS
Need a break from testing? Come on out to a fun filled day of baseball at Maynard Jackson High School (formerly Southside High School) on Saturday, May 2 from 12-3PM.
This year's L.E.A.D Community Day is being supported by Board Members Khaatim S. El and Brenda J. Muhammad who will provide students with test taking tips and resources. Sponsors include Coca-Cola, Communities in Schools and leading Atlanta law firm Nelson Mullins.
L.E.A.D is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing the number of inner city African American teens playing competitive baseball in high school.
Growing up in Atlanta, Stewart knew one day he would play professional baseball. He went on to a successful career with the Chicago Cubs and later was a scout for the Cincinatti Reds. He and his wife Kelli started L.E.A.D to provide resources to athletes who can use their potential on the field to finish high school and go on to play in college.
